My name is Diana O'Brien and I am a quilter. I have sewn for most of my life, starting out making doll clothes. While raising my family, I enjoyed sewing clothes and costumes for our children. When our oldest daughter married, I found I did not lose a daughter, but inherited a sewing room; and that is when my love of quilting was born.
I then met a group of women from all different walks of life with one common interest: quilting. Quickly I discovered my true passion was in making baby quilts and other baby items. When our first grandchild, Grace, was born, she became my inspiration. By the time Michael, our second grandchild, came along they had so many baby quilts and blankets I knew it was time to move on. I then started sewing quilts, blankets and burp cloths for all our great nieces and nephews, and our children's friend's children. With the wonderful help, advice and encouragement I have received from the people in my life, I then took another step forward in my quilting venture.

For the past 3 years, I have had my quilts, burp cloths, and tag-a- longs in shops in Florida, New York and Colorado.
Quilting has been a long- time American tradition. What I love about quilting is the idea of putting scraps of fabric together and ending up with something beautiful, useful and a family heirloom. |
